About the event
In theory, herbalism is a good thing, but not if we cut down rainforests to make remedies and ship exotic "herb-flavor-of-the-month" from across the world using fossil fuels.
It is fascinating how so many different plants have the same actions in the body. Instead of relying on a tropical herb grown in South America (and taken from indigenous people to sell abroad), we have an herb growing in the cracks of the sidewalk here at home.
Whether you cultivate or wildcraft your medicine, you can find it close to home. We will discuss foraging ethics, cultivation, and what we actually need (and what grows here). Handouts of local potent medicines are given to students. Hybrid event means you can attend in-person or online (handouts will be emailed).
